HUMAN SETTLEMENT ● PUBLIC HOUSING

CO-ORDINATOR: HOUSING RENTAL STOCK

BASIC SALARY: R417 967 PER ANNUM • REF NO: HSM 08/21

Job Purpose: To manage, administer, coordinate, communicate and control the operations of a Housing Estate Office responsible for tenancy management of City’s rental housing in compliance with the three tiers of government policies and procedures, information technology applications and systems to ensure service delivery

 Requirements: 

  • Grade 12 plus occupational certificate, Housing certificate or National Diploma
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant experience
  • Proven supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of relevant Housing Legislation
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence

Key performance areas: 

  • Managing all aspects of tenancy management and projects linked to rental stock of a specified area
  • Managing, co-ordinating and monitoring the administrative implementation of national, provincial and local government housing policies and programmes
  • Building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing the effective compliance to operational and lease conditions of City’s rental stock portfolio
  • Managing the implementation of financial controls, link to cost centre management
  • Supervising and managing the development of staff
  • Monitoring upgrade and maintenance programmes of rental stock in a specific area
  • Managing and controlling assets (vehicles, movable and fixed) linked to a housing office
  • Drafting reports and keeping statistical information for reporting purposes
  • Managing the implementation of the national subsidy programmes linked to tenancy and rental sales
  • Travelling to and attending after hour meetings when required.
