Key Performance Areas
Student Development and Support (SDS) plays a leading role in creating a holistic, facilitative co-curricular environment and excellent opportunities for students to develop their full potential as responsible and responsive citizens. The Centre for Student Support Services (CSSS) provides broad student-centred development support interventions to registered students. Its professional services, multi-faceted programs, training opportunities and resources are aimed at co-creating possibilities through a dynamic, supportive environment which enhances the student experience, learning, growth and success.

The successful candidate will work cross-functionally and collaboratively, rendering key student leadership development, social responsibility and capacity-building service offerings to students. Creativity, innovative leadership skills and a drive to enhance student leadership and social responsibility which is current and relevant. Co-ordinate the development and implementation of a leadership programme that contributes towards the holistic development of graduates to actively engage as young leaders, who are socially responsive and responsible citizens. To enhance living-learning spaces to optimize student engagement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibility areas:

Design, implement and facilitate training and development opportunities for students
Design indicators of and implement quality assurance and evaluation of all projects
Actively promote and recruit for social responsibility initiatives across campus
Develop and create innovative resources for the department
Promote holistic development of all students in line with graduate attributes and the SDS charter
Co-ordinate and manage any other projects as per delegation of the line manager
Minimum Requirements
Honours’ degree or NQF equivalent
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
Proficiency in technology
Strong leadership qualities
Strong communication skills
Effective planning and organising skills
Report writing skills
Leadership skills, more specifically the ability to lead students
