The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government seeks to employ two (2) competent individuals who would be able to strategically direct the energy and resources of multiple stakeholders to better align the supply of and the demand for skilled people to enter the job market. These posts are stationed in Cape Town.
An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience; A valid code B driving licence.
Areas Facilitate the initiation of research and analysis of skill development data, information and funding partnerships at government and industry level; Develop and maintain partnerships for skills development strategies, initiatives, projects and sources of skills funding; Facilitate and participate in skills development forums to assist with the work placement of youth to gain experiential learning and the allocation of funding for appropriate skills projects; 4Collect and analyse SETA related information; Facilitate the SETA Co-ordination to assist with the knowledge management regarding the current interventions including partnerships established between various skills stakeholders; Report on funding and projects, perform the due diligence and required governance arrangements, as required by partners, subject to the audit readiness and scrutiny of independent assurance providers.
Knowledge of the following: Labour Relations Act; Applicable policies, legislation, guidelines, standards, procedures and best practices; Public service procedures; Management principles and people management procedures; Financial systems in the public service; Budgeting and other financial processes; Asset Management, intervention control and risk management; Strategic capability and leadership skills. Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
Remuneration R 697,011per annum (Salary level 11)
Note on remuneration:
Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
