 The Merafong City Local Municipality hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:


 TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: Minimum R973 759.00 – Midpoint R1 145 598.00 – Maximum R1 317 437.00. In line with Government Notice No. 351 of 2020 in Government Gazette 43122 dated 20 March 2020 on TRP packages payable to Municipal Managers and Managers directly accountable to Municipal Manager


Requirements: • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Sciences/Architect/ Bachelor Degree in Town and Regional Planning or Developmental Studies, or equivalent • 5 years’ middle management level experience • Have proven successful Professional Developmental/Town and Regional Planning Experience • Project management and Financial skills • Certificate Programme in Municipal Development Management Program (CPMD) in line with Notice 2997 of 15 June 2007 on Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels will be an added advantage • Valid driver’s licence.

Key performance areas: • Provide strategic leadership in the Economic Development and Planning Department • Oversee development planning application processes• Oversee review, development and implementation of the SDF, Economic Growth and Development Strategy • Oversee implementation of investment attraction programmes • Oversee development and implementation of small business support programmes• Oversee land use management and compliance with SPLUMA requirements • Oversee human settlement planning and facilitation of human settlement projects implementation • Oversee Municipal properties administration.
