Job purpose: The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a Farm Aid to perform general routine physical research farm activities. This post is based at Tygerhoek Research Farm located in Riviersonderend.

Requirements: Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET Level 2).

Key performance areas: Perform the following manual farm activities relating to: Crop production • Animal production • Mixed cropping and livestock research farm • Infrastructure development and maintenance.

Competencies: General farm work and maintenance skills • Good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work well within a team and independently.

NB: Applicants from relevant local communities will receive preference. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
