GENERAL MANAGER: CORPORATE SERVICES

FIVE (5) YEAR FIXED TERM PERFORMANCE CONTRACT

Mhlathuze Water (MW) seeks to appoint a highly qualified and well experienced professional to fulfil the role of: General Manager: Corporate Services. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the incumbent in this position will provide high level strategic and operational oversight MW Corporate Services which includes Human Resources (HR), Information Technology (IT), Facilities Management, Legal Services and other related support activities.

Key performance areas: • Contribute substantively to the development and execution of the organisational strategy, business plan and performance targets • Assume responsibility for the overall leadership, direction and operational management of the Corporate Services Department • Accountable for Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal Services, Document Management and Facilities Management, including but not limited to fleet and security management • Lead the strategic and operational requirements of human capital management and development to ensure that appropriate HR systems and processes and HR advice are in place to enable continuous improvement and effective and optimal management of employees • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets • Manage departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets, and within policies and standards • Manage the preservation of the organisations records • Play a leadership role in creating and maintaining a positive culture which is ethical, results driven but also innovative in responding to a continuous changing environment • Inculcate, and embed the Performance Management System at managerial levels in the organisation • Formulate partnerships across the business units to deliver
value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organisation.

Requirements: • This high profile position will ideally suit an incumbent with a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Commerce or Human Resources or Social Sciences or Legal field; preferably with a relevant post graduate qualification (NQF 8) • Senior managerial experience of 8 years’ (3 years’ of which should preferably have been at an executive level) • It is essential that the incumbent has vast HR Management experience as well as a successful track record in managing transformation initiatives • Strong business acumen and a sound knowledge of all relevant legislation • A results driven professional with strong communication, leadership skills and strong stakeholder management ability.
