Job purpose: The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport has an exciting employment opportunity for a Groundsman to maintain the grounds. This post is based in Cape Town.

Requirements: Basic literacy and numeracy (ABET level).

Key performance areas: Ensure that the gardens and courtyards are cared for and maintained • Cleaning of grounds of two buildings • Assist with minor building maintenance.

Competencies: Basic understanding of the following: Ability to plan ahead (proactive), work independently, as well as in a team • Written and verbal communication skills • Computer literacy • Interpersonal relations • Selfmotivation • Planting and pruning • Organising skills.
