Job Purpose: The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government seeks to employ and develop a competent individual to physically execute daily support services. This post is based in Outeniekwa.

Requirements: ABET Level 4 • A minimum of 6 months’ appropriate experience • A valid Code B driver’s licence.

Recommendations: Trade Certificate/qualification.

Key performance areas: Infrastructure maintenance • Conduct regular building inspections • General farm work/activities • Repair broken furniture and equipment • Report defects in terms of infrastructure and equipment • Safekeeping of maintenance tools and supplies • Attend to minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry problems.

Competencies: A good understanding of the following: General farm work/activities • General farm infrastructure maintenance activities • Communication skills.
