Lecturer: Agronomy (One post)
Qualification and requirements:
• Masters in the field of Agronomy with strong knowledge in agricultural mechanization. • Must have at least two (02) years teaching experience at a University or comparable institution • Ability to teach agricultural mechanization, including mode of operation of various equipment and agronomy related modules/courses at undergraduate and honors level. • Evidence of at least two (02) publication in peer-reviewed DHET-accredited journals. • Evidence of national or international conferences/congresses attendance and presentation of oral papers. • Proven ability to supervise research projects at the Honours level. • Evidence of community engagement activities. • Applicants who have registered for a Ph.D. have an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to: • Teach agricultural mechanization and mode of operation of various equipment, and agronomy related modules/courses at undergraduate and honors level • Prepare and develop learning and assessment materials • Undertake individual research or in collaboration with colleagues within or outside the Department. • Supervise research project of an honors student in the department • Undertake community outreach activities as part of the University mandate. • Perform any other duties/responsibilities that may be assigned by the Head of Department.
