Lecturer: Horticulture (One post) 

Qualification and requirements:  •  A Master’s degree in horticulture or plant production with traceable knowledge in vegetable and fruit production •  Must have at least two (02) years teaching experience at a University or comparable institution •  Ability to teach vegetable and fruit production and modules/courses at undergraduate and honors level • evidence of at least two (02) publication in peer-reviewed DHET-accredited journals •  Evidence of national or international conferences/congresses attendance and presentation of oral papers. • Proven ability to supervise research projects at the Honours level. •  Evidence of community engagement activities •  Applicants who have registered for a Ph.D. has an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to: •  Teach modules in vegetable and fruit production at undergraduate level •  Prepare and develop learning and assessment materials •  Undertake individual research or in collaboration with colleagues within or outside the Department. •  Supervise research projects of honors students in the Department •  Undertake community outreach activities as part of the University mandate. •  Perform any other duties/responsibilities that may be assigned by the Head of Department.
