Key Performance Areas
Applications are invited for a Lecturer position in the Department of Library & Information Science at the University of the Western Cape. The department offers a four-year BLIS degree, a Postgraduate Diploma in Library & Information Studies, a Master’s degree (by coursework/dissertation) and a PhD degree.

To be considered for this position, applicants should possess the commitment and ability to be productive scholars and excellent teachers within a dynamic environment. Applicants should be able to contribute to at least two of the following areas:

literature studies (including children’s and youth literature)
digitisation and curation
library ICTs and system operation
scholarly communication
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Library & Information Studies. Preference will be given to applicants who are registered for a PhD and who are near completion.

Teaching experience and a record of research publications in accredited journals would be a strong recommendation.
