Requirements for the post:
A Master’s qualification in Communication; Media Studies; or any qualification related to CESM5 (Communication; Journalism and related studies); or equivalent; A clear understanding of Communication Theory in all its various contexts, i.e. Public Relations, Events Management; Health Communication; Marketing Communication; etc.; At least two (2) years practical experience in teaching Communication Theory at tertiary level; experience teaching at Hons level an added advantage; An understanding of the challenges facing higher education sector in South Africa and beyond, and willingness to participate constructively towards the solution of these University challenges. Experience in conducting social science research and presenting research at national conferences. Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will assume the following responsibilities: Deliver lectures at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Design, prepare and develop teaching materials. Assess the student’s coursework. Engage in research and publication. Supervise post-graduate students’ research activities. Supervise and teach students’ practicals Ensure Communication with related stakeholders.
