Computer Education (NGAP POST)
A teaching qualification is a prerequisite. However, candidates without a teaching qualification must be willing to register and complete a teaching qualification such as the Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education to be considered for the post. The enrolment for the teaching qualification must occur within ONE YEAR of assuming duty. At least three (3) years of teaching experience. An Honours degree in Computer Education or Computer Science. A Master’s degree in Computer Education or equivalent qualification in Computer Science. Experience in developing curricula especially in Computer Education. Academic publications in accredited journals will be an added advantage. Have a valid driver’s licence. Competencies: The applicant should be able to work as part of a team. Further, the applicant should take initiative in research projects and contribute to the development of programmes offered in the Department.
The incumbent will be required to: Initiate and develop curriculum and course materials in Computer Education Coordinate modules in Computer Education. Contribute to the Department’s transformational and strategic goals. The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars. Conduct tutorials, demonstrations, workshops for students and staff. Participate in academic administration such as attendance at departmental, school and /or faculty meetings. Consultation, supervision and teaching of students at postgraduate and undergraduate level.
