Job purpose: The Department of Transport and Public Works has an exciting employment opportunity for a messenger to co-ordinate and control efficient Messenger Services within the Government Motor Transport. This post is based in Cape Town/Maitland).

Requirements: Junior Certificate (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent qualification) • A valid code B/EB driving licence.

Key performance areas: Collecting and delivering of mail and documentation • Record keeping of registers • Assistance to Archive Clerk.

Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Communication (written and verbal) skills • Interpersonal skills • Team work and ability to work independently • Planning and organising skills.

NB: Applicants from relevant local communities will receive preferences. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
