METER READER/DEBTORS CLERK
Salary: R169 785.00 p.a.
Key requirements: • Grade 12 Senior Certificate • NQF level 6 in Finance field • Minimum of 1 year experience in Municipal environment • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office • Communication Skills • Knowledge of Sage Evolution will be an added advantage • Drivers licence.
Key performance areas: • Regular reading of conventional electrical meters • Locating electricity meters from the field, recording figure on display in prescribed forms/registers to ensure the correct billing purpose • Checking the status of connections and identifying and recording any acts of tampering, leaks and damages incurred on connection and flow meters report them for repair connection • Verifying that the reading taken corresponds with the ERF number by gathering information from the owner if not clear • Communicate with customers regarding queries on meter readings on the billing statement • Receive the deviation report for correction of meter readings • Verifying meter readings on display as compared to readings obtained during meter reading process • Submit the complete deviation report for corrections where applicable • Reporting faulty meters to effect immediate repairs • Preparation of electricity distribution losses reconciliation • Preparation and distribution of notices for disconnection of electricity supply in case of non-payment of services • Assist Revenue Officer with follow -up on all outstanding debts.
