THE CONSTRUCTION OF KLEIN BOESMANS (MATHAMO)

RIVER BRIDGE NO. 3528 AT KM 0.251 ON DISTRICT ROAD 69 (D69) IN THE LADYSMITH REGION

CONTRACT NO. ZNT 2253/18T

The Province of KwaZulu-Natal, Department of Transport, invites tenders from Established Contractors, experienced in the construction of bridges, for the construction of Klein Boesman (Mathamo) River Bridge No. 3528 at km 0.251 on District Road 69 (D69) in the Ladysmith Region. The duration of the project will be 15 months.

The established contractor shall be registered in CIDB contractor grading designation 7CE or higher.

** The successful tenderer must subcontract a minimum of 35% of the value of the contract to an Exempted Micro Enterprise (EME) or Qualifying Small business Enterprise (QSE).

Tenderers shall be required to demonstrate that they will employ necessary personnel during the contract period and satisfying the requirements of the Scope of Work for labour-intensive competencies for management and supervisory personnel.

Tender documents will be available as from 10h00 on Monday, 18 March 2019 during working hours (i.e., 08h00 to 16h00 Monday to Friday) until 15h00 on the day prior to the Clarification Meeting.

The physical address for collection of tender documents is: Department of Transport, Acquisition Section, ‘B’ Block, 172 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg.

A non-refundable tender deposit of R500.00 payable in cash or by bank guaranteed cheque made out in favour of ‘Province of KwaZulu-Natal’ is payable on collection of the tender documents.

A compulsory Clarification Meeting with representatives of the Employer will take place the Department of Transport Cost Centre Office, Estcourt on Wednesday, 27 March 2019 starting at 10h00. No latecomers will be admitted.

The closing time for receipt of tenders is 11h00 on Wednesday, 17 April 2019 at the offices of the Department of Transport, 172 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg.
